There was a beautiful Buddhist temple up a mountainside not far from K 2. To get to it you had to take a jeep up a very rocky road and ford several streams on the way up, but the trip was worth it. The war ended while I was there, so we finally got some time to see the local sights. Once in a while we even got to take a six-by and go over to the coast for a swim.
